<sup>Hello I’m Denise! I am a Brooklyn-based visual designer specializing in product design and branding. I have four years of experience working as a visual designer in technology and in publishing. I am passionate about scaling brands, creating diverse and thoughtful user experiences, and using design to amplify the voices of marginalized communities. 

Recently, I completed a full-time UX course at DesignLab to strengthen my user research, information architecture, and prototyping skills. I also have a background in design and graduated with distinction from California College of the Arts with a BFA in graphic design. 

Prior to Designlab, I worked as a visual designer on the marketing and retention team at thredUP,  one of the largest online consignment and resale platforms fighting fashion waste. Before thredUP, I worked on the marketing communications team as a brand designer at Chronicle Books, a San Francisco based independent book publisher. Download my resume here.  

I have also coordinated and programmed workshops at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive in the Art Lab helping underrepresented artists and designers in the Bay Area showcase their talents  through creative workshops for museum visitors. I graduated with distinction from California College of the Arts with a degree in graphic design.

Aside from design, I enjoy baking, film photography, reading, and am passionate about dog adoptions.</sup>
